Overview
TSN Phone allows you to communicate with multiple people during the same telephone call using conference calling features. Conference calling can be useful when you need to connect a customer with several employees, coordinate with different departments, or discuss a project with multiple participants. Depending on your organization’s configuration, you may be able to start a conference directly from the TSN Phone application or join a scheduled conference using a designated telephone number or conference extension. This guide explains how to start a conference call, add participants, manage an active conference, and troubleshoot common conference calling issues.
Before You Begin:
- Make sure you are signed into your TSN Phone account.
- Confirm that your extension is active and connected.
- Verify that your internet connection is stable.
- Have the telephone numbers or extensions of the participants available.
- Use a working microphone, speakers, or headset.
- Confirm that conference calling is available for your extension.
Important: Conference calling features, participant limits, and available controls depend on your organization’s phone system configuration.
Note: A conference call is different from a call transfer. A transfer connects a caller to another destination, while a conference allows multiple participants to remain connected together.
Understanding Conference Calling
TSN Phone may support different conference calling methods.
Three-Way Calling
Three-way calling allows you to connect yourself and two other people into the same conversation.
Example: You are speaking with a customer and need to include a coworker. Instead of transferring the customer, you add the coworker so all three people can speak together.
Multi-Party Conference
A multi-party conference allows several people to participate in one call.
Depending on the configuration, participants may join from:
- Internal TSN Phone extensions.
- External telephone numbers.
- Compatible desk phones.
- Supported desktop or mobile applications.
Note: Maximum participant counts depend on the conferencing service and your organization’s configuration.
Conference Room
Some organizations use dedicated conference extensions or conference rooms. Participants may call a designated number or extension and enter an access PIN when required.
Important: Conference rooms and access credentials are provisioned by True Synergy Networks. Users should only join or use conference rooms assigned to them.
