Overview
Keeper Password Manager securely stores your passwords, passkeys, confidential notes, and other approved information in an encrypted vault.
Although Keeper is designed to provide reliable access to your saved credentials, you may occasionally experience issues with signing in, opening your vault, synchronizing records, or using the KeeperFill browser extension.
Common problems include:
- Unable to sign in to Keeper.
- Microsoft 365 Single Sign-On (SSO) errors.
- Device approval requests.
- Forgotten Keeper Master Passwords.
- Missing or outdated password records.
- Vault synchronization problems.
- KeeperFill not appearing in the browser.
- Passwords not automatically filling.
- Keeper mobile autofill not working.
- Shared folders or records missing.
- Account lockouts or security warnings.
This guide provides safe troubleshooting steps for these issues and explains when to contact True Synergy Networks for additional assistance.
Before You Begin:
- Make sure you have an active internet connection.
- Confirm that Keeper is installed or accessible through your approved browser.
- Have your assigned work email address available.
- Know whether your organization uses Microsoft 365 SSO or a Keeper Master Password.
- Have your approved multifactor authentication method available.
- Use a device and account approved by your organization.
Important: Never share your Master Password, verification codes, recovery information, or device approval requests with anyone, including support representatives.
Note: Your organization may manage Keeper settings through enterprise security policies. Some options described in this guide may be unavailable or restricted.
Step 1: Check Your Internet Connection
Keeper requires connectivity for activities such as signing in, approving new devices, and synchronizing changes between devices.
Windows or Mac
- Open a supported web browser.
- Visit a trusted website.
- Confirm that the page loads.
- Check whether your computer is connected to Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
- If necessary, reconnect to your approved network.
iPhone or Android
- Open your device’s Settings.
- Confirm that Wi-Fi or cellular data is active.
- Open a trusted website.
- Verify that your connection is working.
Note: Keeper may allow access to previously synchronized records while offline in supported configurations, but new sign-ins and synchronization generally require connectivity.
Step 2: Check Whether Keeper Is Experiencing an Outage
If Keeper suddenly becomes unavailable, the issue may be related to the service rather than your device.
Check the Service Status
- Open a browser.
- Visit https://status.keeper.io.
- Review any reported service incidents.
- Check whether the incident affects your Keeper service or region.
Important: If no outage is reported, the problem may still involve your device, internet connection, company account, or a service issue that has not yet been published.
I Cannot Sign In to Keeper
If Keeper rejects your sign-in attempt, first determine which authentication method your organization uses.
Step 1: Confirm Your Email Address
- Open Keeper.
- Enter your assigned work email address.
- Check for spelling mistakes.
- Make sure there are no extra spaces.
- Continue to the next step.
Important: Avoid creating a new Keeper account when you already have an organization-managed account.
Step 2: Check Your Authentication Method
Depending on your organization’s setup, Keeper may use:
- Microsoft 365 Single Sign-On.
- Another organization-managed identity provider.
- Keeper Master Password authentication.
If your company uses SSO, you should normally complete the sign-in process through the organization’s approved identity provider.
If your account uses a Master Password, enter the Master Password assigned or created during account setup.
Step 3: Review the Error
- Read the displayed error message.
- Note whether the issue occurs before or after entering your credentials.
- Record the exact wording.
- Stop repeated attempts if the account may be locked.
If the issue continues, contact True Synergy Networks.
Important: Do not send your password to support. Technicians should not need to know your existing password to investigate a sign-in failure.
Microsoft 365 SSO Is Not Working
Some organizations use Microsoft 365 to authenticate users into Keeper.
If your Microsoft 365 SSO login fails, the problem may be related to your Microsoft account, authentication requirements, or Keeper account assignment.
Step 1: Test Your Microsoft 365 Account
- Open a supported browser.
- Visit https://www.microsoft365.com.
- Sign in using your work email address.
- Complete any required multifactor authentication.
- Confirm that you can access your Microsoft 365 account.
If Microsoft 365 sign-in also fails, contact True Synergy Networks.
Step 2: Try Keeper Again
- Open your organization’s approved Keeper login page.
- Enter your work email address.
- Select the appropriate Enterprise SSO option if prompted.
- Follow the Microsoft sign-in redirect.
- Complete authentication.
- Wait for Keeper to open.
Note: Being able to sign in to Microsoft 365 does not automatically confirm that your Keeper access is correctly assigned.
Step 3: Record the SSO Error
If you are redirected back to the login page or receive an access error:
- Record the error message.
- Note the approximate time.
- Confirm that you are using the correct work account.
- Contact True Synergy Networks.
Important: Do not create a separate Keeper Master Password account to work around an SSO issue.
Keeper Keeps Redirecting Me to the Login Page
A repeated login loop may be caused by an interrupted authentication session, browser restrictions, or an organization-managed SSO problem.
Step 1: Close the Sign-In Window
- Close the affected Keeper login tab.
- Open a new browser tab.
- Navigate to your approved Keeper login page.
- Attempt to sign in again.
Step 2: Review Browser Settings
- Verify that your browser is updated.
- Check whether browser extensions or privacy settings are interfering with authentication.
- Confirm that your organization’s approved browser security settings are in place.
Important: Do not broadly disable browser security protections or company-managed extensions to troubleshoot Keeper.
Step 3: Try Another Approved Browser
If your organization permits it:
- Open another supported browser.
- Navigate to the approved Keeper login page.
- Attempt to sign in.
If the issue only occurs in one browser, note that information when contacting support.
If the login loop continues across browsers, contact True Synergy Networks.
I Forgot My Keeper Master Password
If your account uses a Keeper Master Password and you cannot remember it:
- Stop guessing passwords.
- Check whether the sign-in screen offers an approved recovery option.
- Follow your organization’s recovery instructions.
- Contact True Synergy Networks if assistance is needed.
Important: Keeper’s zero-knowledge architecture means support personnel cannot simply look up or reveal your Master Password.
Recovery availability depends on how your account was configured and whether an eligible recovery method was established.
Note: If your organization uses Microsoft 365 SSO, you generally should not be using a separate Keeper Master Password for normal authentication.
Keeper Says My Device Needs Approval
Keeper may require approval when you sign in from a new device or browser.
Step 1: Review the Request
- Confirm that you personally initiated the sign-in.
- Review the device information.
- Check whether Keeper provides an approved verification method.
Step 2: Complete Approval
Depending on your configuration, Keeper may offer approval through:
- Email verification.
- Another trusted Keeper device.
- Keeper Push.
- An organization-approved authentication process.
Follow the method displayed for your account.
Step 3: Sign In Again
- Complete the approval.
- Return to Keeper.
- Continue the sign-in process.
- Confirm that your vault opens.
Important: Never approve an unexpected device request. If you receive a request you did not initiate, report it to True Synergy Networks.
My Device Approval Email Is Missing
If Keeper asks you to approve a device through email:
- Check your work email inbox.
- Search for Keeper-related messages.
- Review your Junk or Spam folder.
- Confirm that you are using the correct email address.
- Wait briefly for delivery.
- Use another approved verification method if available.
If the approval email never arrives, contact True Synergy Networks.
Important: Do not repeatedly approve unfamiliar devices or forward verification emails to other people.
My Two-Factor Authentication Code Is Not Working
If Keeper rejects a verification code:
Step 1: Confirm the Correct Account
- Open your approved authenticator application.
- Select the correct Keeper entry.
- Check that you are not using a code intended for Microsoft 365 or another account.
Step 2: Check the Code
- Wait for a fresh code.
- Enter the digits carefully.
- Submit the code before it expires.
Step 3: Check Your Device Time
- Open your smartphone’s date and time settings.
- Confirm that automatic date and time are enabled.
- Try a new verification code.
If authentication continues to fail, contact True Synergy Networks.
Important: Do not delete your authenticator entry or remove a working authentication method before confirming an approved recovery option.
I Lost My Phone or Security Key
If your authentication device is lost, damaged, or unavailable:
- Determine whether another approved authentication method is available.
- Use a valid recovery method if your account supports it.
- Contact True Synergy Networks if you cannot sign in.
- Follow the approved identity verification process.
Important: Do not create a second account or ask another employee to share their credentials.
If you believe the device was stolen, notify your organization’s authorized administrator promptly.
My Keeper Vault Is Empty
If you successfully sign in but do not see your passwords:
Step 1: Confirm the Account
- Review the email address associated with your Keeper session.
- Confirm that it matches your organization-managed account.
- If you have multiple Keeper accounts, make sure you selected the correct one.
Step 2: Check the Vault
- Open My Vault.
- Search for a known record.
- Review your folders and Favorites.
- Check whether a search filter is active.
Step 3: Check Synchronization
- Confirm that your internet connection is working.
- Allow time for records to synchronize.
- Reopen the application if appropriate.
If previously saved business records are still missing, contact True Synergy Networks.
Important: Do not recreate or overwrite a large number of records until the cause of the missing data is understood.
My Passwords Are Not Synchronizing Between Devices
Keeper normally synchronizes eligible vault records across your authorized devices.
If a password appears on your computer but not your phone:
Step 1: Confirm Both Accounts
- Open Keeper on each device.
- Verify the signed-in email addresses.
- Confirm that both devices use the same account.
Step 2: Check Connectivity
- Confirm that each device is connected to the internet.
- Open Keeper on the affected device.
- Allow time for synchronization.
Step 3: Refresh the Vault
- Use the available sync or refresh control if provided.
- Reopen Keeper if necessary.
- Search for the updated record.
Important: Do not repeatedly change the same password record on multiple devices while synchronization is failing.
If records remain inconsistent, contact True Synergy Networks.
My Shared Folder Is Missing
Shared folders are assigned according to your organization’s permissions.
If a shared folder disappears:
- Confirm that you are signed into the correct account.
- Search for a known record from the folder.
- Check whether the folder is listed elsewhere in your vault.
- Allow time for synchronization.
- Contact True Synergy Networks if the folder remains unavailable.
Note: Shared folder access can change when your organization updates user or team permissions.
Important: Do not ask coworkers to send shared passwords through email or text as a workaround.
KeeperFill Is Missing From My Browser
KeeperFill is the browser extension used to fill saved credentials.
Google Chrome
- Open Chrome.
- Click the Extensions icon.
- Locate Keeper Password Manager.
- Verify that the extension is enabled.
- Pin KeeperFill if desired.
You can also enter chrome://extensions in the address bar to review installed extensions.

- Open Edge.
- Click the Extensions icon.
- Locate Keeper Password Manager.
- Confirm that it is enabled.
- Choose the option to show it in the toolbar.
You can also enter edge://extensions in the address bar.

- Confirm that the extension is enabled.
Important: If your organization centrally manages browser extensions, do not remove and reinstall them without authorization.
KeeperFill Is Installed but Not Working
If the extension icon is visible but credentials are not filling:
Step 1: Confirm Sign-In
- Click the Keeper icon.
- Check whether KeeperFill is locked or signed out.
- Sign in using your approved authentication method.
Step 2: Open the Website
- Navigate to the legitimate website.
- Confirm that the address is correct.
- Click the Keeper icon near the login field or browser toolbar.
Step 3: Select the Record
- Review the suggested records.
- Select the correct username.
- Choose the available autofill option.
- Confirm that the credentials are entered.
If no record is suggested, search for it manually.
Note: Some websites use login forms that KeeperFill cannot automatically recognize or complete.
KeeperFill Is Suggesting the Wrong Password
If KeeperFill shows an outdated or incorrect login:
- Open Keeper.
- Search for the website.
- Review matching records.
- Check whether multiple accounts are saved.
- Select the intended record.
- Verify the website address and username.
If a saved password is outdated, update it only after confirming the actual password for the corresponding website.
Important: Editing a saved Keeper password does not automatically change that password on the website.
KeeperFill Is Not Offering to Save a Password
If you sign in to a new website and KeeperFill does not offer to save the login:
- Confirm that KeeperFill is signed in.
- Check that the extension is enabled.
- Determine whether the website is already saved.
- Review available password-saving settings.
- Check whether your organization restricts automatic saving.
If automatic saving is unavailable, you can manually create a record in your Keeper Vault.
Important: Only save credentials that you are authorized to store.
KeeperFill Is Not Working in Private Browsing
Some browsers restrict extensions in private or incognito windows.
If KeeperFill works normally but not in private browsing:
- Confirm that the extension is installed.
- Check whether your browser permits extension access in private browsing.
- Follow your organization’s approved browser policies.
- Use a regular browser window if permitted.
Important: Do not change managed private-browsing or extension policies without authorization.
KeeperFill Is Not Working on iPhone or iPad
Step 1: Check Keeper
- Open Keeper Password Manager.
- Confirm that you are signed in.
- Unlock the vault if prompted.
Step 2: Review Autofill Settings
On supported current iOS and iPadOS versions:
- Open Settings.
- Search for AutoFill & Passwords.
- Open the available autofill controls.
- Confirm that Keeper is enabled as an autofill provider.
On older versions, these settings may appear under Settings → Passwords → Password Options.
Step 3: Test Autofill
- Open Safari or a supported application.
- Navigate to a legitimate login page.
- Tap the username or password field.
- Select Keeper from the autofill suggestions if available.
- Authenticate and choose the correct record.
If autofill remains unavailable, contact True Synergy Networks.
Note: Some applications may not fully support third-party password autofill.
KeeperFill Is Not Working on Android
Step 1: Open Keeper
- Open Keeper.
- Sign in and unlock your vault.
- Navigate to Settings.
Step 2: Check KeeperFill
- Locate KeeperFill or the autofill setup option.
- Open the setup instructions.
- Verify that Keeper is selected as your device’s approved autofill provider.
Step 3: Test the Feature
- Open a supported website or application.
- Tap a username or password field.
- Look for the Keeper autofill suggestion.
- Select the intended record.
- Complete sign-in.
Note: Android autofill settings vary by manufacturer, browser, and operating system version.
If your device is organization-managed, follow its approved configuration.
I Cannot Access a Shared Password
If someone has shared a record with you but it does not appear:
- Confirm that you are signed into the correct Keeper account.
- Search for the record title.
- Check for a pending sharing invitation.
- Verify that the sender used your correct work email address.
- Contact True Synergy Networks if the record remains unavailable.
Important: Sharing permissions may limit your ability to edit or reshare a record. This does not necessarily indicate a problem.
I Cannot Edit or Share a Record
If a record is read-only or its sharing options are unavailable:
- Open the record.
- Review your available permissions.
- Determine whether it belongs to a shared folder.
- Confirm whether the record owner permits editing or sharing.
- Contact True Synergy Networks if you need additional authorization.
Important: Do not create duplicate records or use external sharing tools to bypass Keeper restrictions.
I Accidentally Deleted a Password
If a record was deleted:
- Open Keeper.
- Navigate to Deleted Items, if available.
- Locate the deleted record.
- Select Restore, if permitted.
- Return to your vault.
- Verify that the recovered information is correct.
If you overwrote a password, Record History may provide an earlier version.
Important: Record recovery depends on available history, ownership, permissions, and retention settings. Permanently deleted information may not be recoverable.
Keeper Is Running Slowly or Freezing
If Keeper becomes unresponsive:
Step 1: Check Connectivity
- Confirm that your internet connection is stable.
- Determine whether other applications are also slow.
Step 2: Restart Keeper
- Close the application when you are not performing an active upload or edit.
- Reopen it.
- Sign in if necessary.
- Check whether the problem continues.
Step 3: Check for Updates
- Confirm that you are using an approved Keeper version.
- Check whether an update is available.
- Follow your organization’s software update policy.
Important: Do not uninstall a managed Keeper application or delete local application data without authorization, especially if you have records or attachments that have not synchronized.
If the issue continues, contact True Synergy Networks.
Keeper Is Asking Me to Sign In Frequently
Keeper may automatically lock or sign out based on inactivity or organization security policies.
Step 1: Review the Behavior
Determine whether Keeper:
- Locks after a period of inactivity.
- Signs out when the browser closes.
- Requires authentication after a computer restart.
- Requests verification when a new device is used.
Step 2: Review Approved Settings
- Open Keeper.
- Navigate to the available security settings.
- Review inactivity and session controls if accessible.
- Follow your organization’s authentication requirements.
Important: Frequent authentication may be intentional.
Do not disable security protections or extend session timeouts beyond your organization’s permitted settings.
Keeper Reports a Compromised Password
If Keeper BreachWatch identifies a compromised password:
- Open the flagged record.
- Verify the associated website.
- Determine whether you are authorized to change the password.
- Change the password through the legitimate website.
- Use Keeper’s password generator to create a unique replacement.
- Save the updated password in Keeper.
For shared or centrally managed business credentials, contact True Synergy Networks before making changes.
Important: A compromised password should not be ignored simply because the account still works.
How to Determine Whether the Problem Affects One Device or Multiple Devices
Comparing the issue across approved devices can help identify the cause.
Test 1: Web Vault
- Open Keeper through an approved browser.
- Check whether your records appear.
Test 2: Browser Extension
- Open KeeperFill.
- Confirm that it is signed in.
- Check whether the same records are available.
Test 3: Mobile Application
- Open Keeper on your authorized mobile device.
- Confirm that you are using the same account.
- Review whether the expected records appear.
What the Results May Indicate
| Observation | Possible Cause |
|---|---|
| Web Vault works, KeeperFill does not | Browser extension or browser configuration issue |
| Desktop works, mobile does not | Mobile application, authentication, or synchronization issue |
| No devices can sign in | Account, SSO, network, or service issue |
| One folder is missing everywhere | Shared folder permissions or record organization |
| One record differs between devices | Synchronization or record update issue |
Note: These comparisons help narrow the issue but do not conclusively identify its cause.
