Overview
TSN Phone allows you to customize how your business calling application uses your microphone, speakers, headset, and notification sounds. Correct audio settings are important for hearing incoming calls, speaking clearly with customers, and receiving alerts when coworkers send messages. Depending on your application version, you may also be able to change your incoming call ringtone or select a separate device for ringing. This guide explains how to configure audio devices, change available ringtones, manage notifications, and troubleshoot common sound-related issues.
Before You Begin:
- Make sure you are signed into your TSN Phone application.
- Confirm that your device is connected to the internet.
- Connect your headset or other audio devices before configuring them.
- Make sure your device’s volume is turned up.
- Verify that the application has microphone and notification permissions.
- Confirm that you are using the TSN Phone application approved by True Synergy Networks.
Important: Available ringtone and notification settings vary by application version. Some versions use administrator-managed or built-in sounds that cannot be changed through the normal user interface.
Note: TSN Phone may provide separate audio settings for your microphone, speakers, and ringing device.
Understanding TSN Phone Audio Devices
The TSN Phone desktop application may allow you to select three different audio devices.
Microphone
The microphone captures your voice so callers can hear you.
Examples include:
- A headset microphone.
- A laptop’s built-in microphone.
- A USB microphone.
- A compatible Bluetooth headset.
Speaker
The speaker plays the audio you hear during an active telephone call.
Examples include:
- A headset.
- Laptop speakers.
- External computer speakers.
- A compatible Bluetooth device.
Ringing Device
The ringing device plays the sound that alerts you to an incoming telephone call.
For example, you may want:
- Call audio through your headset.
- Incoming call ringing through your computer speakers.
This can help you hear incoming calls even when your headset is not being worn.
Note: Not every device or application version supports separate ringing and call audio outputs.
Windows — Change Your Microphone and Speakers
Step 1: Open TSN Phone
- Open the approved TSN Phone desktop application.
- Sign in using your assigned account.
- Confirm that the application is connected.
Step 2: Open Audio Settings
- Locate Tools or the application settings menu.
- Select Preferences.
- Navigate to Phone → Audio Devices or the available Audio section.
Alternatively, some desktop versions provide a headset icon directly in the Phone section.
Note: The exact menu location may vary between TSN Phone application versions.
Step 3: Select Your Microphone
- Locate the Microphone or Input Device dropdown.
- Click the dropdown.
- Select the microphone you want to use.
- Speak into the microphone.

Recommendation: If you are using a headset, select the headset microphone instead of your computer’s built-in microphone. This can help reduce background noise.

- Select your preferred speakers or headset.
- Click Test, if available.
- Confirm that you hear the test sound.
Step 5: Save Your Settings

Important: Make sure you test both incoming and outgoing audio before relying on the application for customer calls.

- Listen for the incoming call sound.
- Adjust the volume as necessary.
Important: Do not modify application installation files, internal audio resources, or program folders to change a ringtone. - Check whether the feature is enabled.
- Review any app notification exceptions.
- Allow appropriate business calling notifications if permitted.
Important: Android’s system-level Do Not Disturb is separate from TSN Phone’s own call and presence settings.

Step 1: Open Application Settings

Step 2: Review Restrictions
